If I'd change stuff on the holly OTU

I'd lower the TL for most stuff by 1 or 2 - for example, Battledress becomes TL 12, while plasma rifles (from the MGT TMB) become TL 13 or 14.

It's hardly "holly", I don't think the Traveller inquisition has been created yet. :D

Travelling courts

Good idea. I don't see the big kahunas travelling themselves, but a few underlings with near-total-power to act in their names could very well do runs of the sub sectors.

A more rigid/corrupt society More "nobles above all" and "each noble for himself".

Didn't the Rebellion turn into a quagmire precisely because this facet exists?

A more evil Empire

Strephon has an Aslan concubine?!

Different take on the Sollies They are still human supremacists. But if you are human their culture is more open/democratic than the 3I.

What do you mean, you accursed Imperial loyalist? The Sollies are the very definition of a democratic human society! :D

Dropping some elements Like the "no slavery" concept.

I'm sure there is a lot of slavery on planetary level, they're just allowed to export them. And the Imperium is hardly the only human nation around. And don't forget the thriving black market and things who are slavery in all but name...indentured serveants, wage slaves, etc...

(1) Traveller is the delight of all Furry fans :)

It is? So why isn't it selling like cupcakes? Maybe we should also try to get the Otherkin folk into the bandwagon. :)

{I always said that Traveller's best chance to win new players would be
a crossover supplement for Bunnies & Burrows, with a campaign that
puts laser rifle armed rabbits against invading Vargr, but do people lis-
ten to my proposals ...
:evil: }

I would play this. I would play the shit out of this.

I think that those are all valid additions to the Holy OTU. Just there is no reason why they cannot be part of YTU, as they are part of MTU.

You see, I never felt constrained by the OTU, which has 11,000 worlds to play around with in the Imperium and numerous others outside of it. Where I would change the OTU is change the mood and make it more darker a setting whilst offering the shades of grey as well as the Light. SJG did something like this in some of their planetary profiles but never really followed up on it.

I really hope if Mongoose is going to tackle as something as large as the OTU rather than just fragments like Sectors or Sourcebooks for the careers... that it will include all Black, Grey and White interpetations.

Don't make the Solomani like the nazies. That was just stupid. I have created a history that makes the Solomani not so racist. I understand that the Solomani might not be to friendly to the Vilani but why would they be against the Vegans? Weren't they allied during the Intersteller wars?

My Traveler Universe has never been the "OTU". So if any of you ever play in my games, you better be willing to accept that.

i tend to play Traveller and not base it in the OTU for a number of reasons. Traveller is a set of rules and guidelines, not a setting

Far Future Enterprises, the company of Marc Miller, creator and owner
of Traveller, has a PDF named "Understanding Traveller" on its website.
The very first sentence of this PDF reads:

"Traveller is a game; that is, it is a system of rules which allows
players to participate in a situation for recreation and enjoyment."

If the person who created Traveller and still owns it defines Traveller as
a "system of rules", I will not argue with him.
