Idea for future B5 mini sets

I know some people out there don´t like the idea of prepainted ships, but I was close to buying AT43 just because they WHERE prepainted. I mean u can always paint on something if you don´t like it. I personally don´t need do anything else then a nice banner or logo on my ships to be happy. So IF mongoose decides to bring back B5 someday I would welcome pre-painted ships, or not just give me ships! (to buy)

Actually, the AT-43 stuff isn't bad at all for pre-paints - definitely far better quality than the Battlefield Evolution.

I'm not thinking that B5 itself is going away, just the ship production. I am not quite clear as to what the "grand plan" is.

MGP dabbled a bit in the prepaints. In so doing they shut down one of their metal minis lines. To what extent is this related to the apparent collapse of minis production from Mongoose? I mean I would imagine that considerable capital went into the manufacturing of the BFE minis. Mongoose couldn't get things figured out with this and seems to have stopped it. SST minis were shut down in favor of prepaints.

Did a business decision to get into the prepaints fail and the company has to replenish its capital before resuming?

Or should we be expecting B5:ACTA the Collectible Miniatures Game?

As well as the problems with the prepaints there was the legal issues in Hollywood with the SST licence, which prevented Mongoose getting back up and running with it.

The Tom Clancy licence may well have been a big earner for the miniatures side of the business, but that fell through.

These things together left a foundry just producing ACTA which apparently wasn't enough on its own, now matter how succesful it seemed to be.
