A friend of mine wants to know how, in her Pirates of Drinax Campaign, The Imperium will react to The Pcs using 2 1-use only Ancient Devices stolen from The Floranni to destroy most of Krond's Fleet and turn The 8,000 Ton Ritchey Escort and The 2,000 Ton Carriers crews into semi-mindless beings that have ruthlessly betrayed, sided with The Pirates and had The Zhodani manipulate The Trojan Duke's Son and heir and daughter who is his 2nd born child into marrying Rao's Son and Daughter so that Drinax unofficially rules almost the entire Trojan reach and all The Imperial parts of it and will officially rule it within the next 1 or 2 generations. 3 generations max?. Please advise?

1st Generation - Not much, the Reach is so far from the centers of power, that the Imperium will be very slow in responding - A lot will depend on how many people know about the mind manipulation and the intervention of the Zhos. The 5th Frontier War will bury this story, so very little is done.
2nd Generation - is GONE. VIRUS and the ihatei fleets from the Hierate will sweep over eveything. Unless your empire can stop 10000 ships of 100000 tons filled with Aslan warriors - they are swept up. Then before anything is settled, VIRUS sweeps in and stomps everything flat. VIRUS will eat Drinax alive - all that high tech stuff will be worthless or worse - turn against the people and kill them all.
3rd Generation - If anyone is left, they can pick up the pieces and join the Regency which forms around Regina in the Spinward Marches and start rebuilding the galaxy while battling the Black Fleets of TL15 ships (from Drinax and others...).
Sorry, that is the future-history of the 3rd Imperium...

This assumes Mongoose follows the New Era timeline -- and it leaves out the Rebellion timeline, which precedes Virus, as I understand it.Rikki Tikki Traveller said:

If one follows the alternate "Lorenverse" GURPS Traveller timeline, future history avoids the Rebellion and the New Era events (Virus and Empress Wave), but still includes Ihatei fleets, plus the arrival of a fleet of huge Solomani sublight sleeper ships.
