Scipio, call me twisted but I love prepping. To me it's the 'modelling' part of the hobby. As for painting, after priming I base coat all models in a unit the one or two dominate colors then detail them one at a time. So the unit may not be completely painted but they'll all be red for example, which helps in identifying different units. Character models I'll complete all at once like my Skinnie General which I painted in one session of about two hours.
