I had a discussion with my players about the title of this story.
Does someone know why REH named it HOftD? Is Xaltotun the dragon? Is there a dragon mentioned at all?

The Dragon is the symbol of Nemedia. Also Xaltotun is from Acheron. Acheronians were physically described as snakelike.

Nemedia's emblem is a scarlet dragon, and that tale is about Nemedia's brief conquest of Aquilonia.
