Currently, I'm placing bets that it will be sometime in early November......although it was never explained of what the bet consisted, so I'm not sure its official.

Well, the book is printed, and is currently shippping to our warehouse, and copies will be present at our Open Day this coming weekend. This might be a bet you are losing. . . :)

If there isn't a physical limit and the limit is just due to grav compensation tech, then there's no reason to prevent ships from going up to 7+ g acceleratiosn at higher TLs - if 6g is getting cancelled out by the compensators then going another g shouldn't be a problem (assuming you don't move around on the ship). Accelerating at higher g should be possible with more protection (acceleration couches etc).

IMTU, ship drives top out at 6g due to grav compensator tech - before TL-16, no-one can figure out how to compensate for more, and most designers limit their drives to provide somewhere between 1g and 6g as normal acceleration, with the ability to produce 1 or 2g more in the name of emergency acceleration/military power (same thing for my purposes). Of course, missiles and probes can accelerate using at least 8g, and by TL-12 12g, acceleration. After all, they've got to be able to catch up with opposing ships!

Not necessarily.

I either get the book before November, in which case I get it earlier than I expect and I win....and might have to pay out some triffle..... or I get the triffle and the knowledge I was right.

Sounds ok to me either way.

Of course, I just checked with my FLGS and my FIGS and so far....no book. So I'm winning so far.

LOL.
