Hi!

l33tpenguin

Mongoose
Its been a while... What the heck happened? I browse teh internets one day and find out Mongoose is no longer making doing 'A Call To Arms'? Who's the scapegoat?

Mongoose is still supporting and doing Call to Arms, it is just that they no longer are producing and selling the models. They say they will still provide supplements and print stuff in S&P. Heard they are suppose to produce new counters for the new edition, which is a good thing.

Yeah, I saw... and was really bummed... so I went out and ordered a bunch to at least finish building ONE fleet I had planned... Which is a shame... because I've invested a couple hundred into this game... but don't have anyone to play with :(

Blah @ counters :( too bad they couldn't just produce core ship minis still... They had a Huge inventory of ships... I'd think it would be cheaper to make only a select few of the more popular ones

Supposedly the problem isn't the cost opf making the B5 minis. They were a real moneymaker for MGP.
It was the maintenance of the facility where they made them. B5 didn't make enough to pay for all of it and the rest of their games didn't make up the difference. And since their license supposedly does not allow for them to hire someone else to make the minis...

Well, I'm sure we all hope someone else will be able to take up making them someday.

In the mean time...

Any of you live near San Antonio?!?

Or... are deployed to Al Udeid?...

If you still want minis...you can try the old AOG website. its enough to get the "iconic" ships

Eh, I think I'll be well enough for now. Just hope that production on them will start again at some point. I hate seeing the things I love fall into darkness. Its like the B5 models, the ones that came out were pretty good! But I would have loved to see a Thunderbolt or Omega Cruiser.

Hate that Star Trek gets so much love...

Yeah, there are many PPP models available for them... But I still like the B5 metal minis of AoG and MGP better. Somehow assembling and painting your ships kinda make your love for them grow.

True. The hobby side of this game (or any game that involves painting up a force) is what makes it for a lot of people. Seeing a force on the table that you have invested time and effort (and in the case of shadow scouts, tears and swearwords) into getting built and painted, is really cool.

If you mean San Antonio, TX, then I can offer Austin. Not sure that qualifies as near or not, though.

Erik

Oooohh! my gosh! I founds someone!

And yes, SA, TX. But I don't get back there for another six months. I'm deployed overseas atm.

I'm not sure what a PPP model is... or, at least, the term.

And yes, I do love assembling and painting my fleet. I'm getting better at it, though I'm still a bit of a newbie. I would just love to have a foot and a half long Omega Destroyer hanging from my hobby room ceiling.
I guess its just easier to make the Star Trek Models. I mean, they are all about the same, disk with engines... not much imagination going in. Babylon 5 ships at least take some creativity! :P
