[Heroes of Magnamund] Kloon Sage of Chaman Query...

Ok Mine arrived this morning, I'm Spazing out over some classes and a bit cool on others, It feels like their s a HoM:II and a VoM coming, either that or Realm books will hold Iconic Classes for those lands like Sages & Mercs for the Storn Lands and such.

I guess we'll see that once Sommerlund is release later this month
However I'd prefer if they kept the classes limited as the more they put out, the more they'll have to update for Magnakai and GrandMaster level play.

Of course if some new classes appeared in S&P that would be nice

It'd be nice to have them in their own books or as addendums in S&P.

I'm not a big fan of putting classes (ie, rules) in with gazeteer (ie, setting) content as it really feels like its forcing customers to buy all the books even if they just want the rules side of things and alternately its giving other customers crunch when they may want just setting fluff and therefore reducing their page count on the things that they're interested in. YMMV and all that, though.

I say put out a few classes in S&P, and then collect them later on in a single volume with some added padding and fluff (and decent artwork!). That way the die-hard fans get something new every month or two, and the bundled release can then be used to draw in new players. Besides, a lot of gamers I know have a strong "anti-hero" streak in them - publishing a "Villians of Magnamund" would be akin to a D&D Monster Manual, with everyone clamouring to play this or that class (gods know I have been wanting to play a mind flayer for YEARS...)

In an Heroic setting like LW I prefer to keep the villains classes as NPCs foils or at least as a redeemed villain. A completely evil campaign is something only veteran GM and player should do.

Heh... I'm GM'ing an Evil campaign at the moment, and it is my very first one. We're having great fun, to be honest - the guys are doing things that Kai lords would never do! The link to the game is on the previous page somewhere, have a look sometime if you are interested.

To be fair, you have a great set of players :D

No, I wasn't meaning me, I mean the other guys are doing well in keeping their characters evilly inclined without being out for themselves. In an obvious way. Yet.

*goes to look for knives in back, poison in food, and stones stuck into shoes*

My tip is submit a proposal or two to Signs and Portents, especially for new classes and the like.

You never know.

As for classes in Sommerlund, there were some in the original but I believe those have been covered by Heroes. So I doubt there'll be any...then again, Mongoose are often quite capable of throwing me for a loop like they did with the core book adventure...which was in 3 parts orginally.

Oh, I have submitted a few already: a Rekenarim, an Acolyte of Vashna and a Drakkarim Assault Trooper (prelude to Death Knight). Now I'm just waiting for the good news!
