This thread's brilliant, with just posting my fleet list I get to see what David is likely to take and many of the tactics suggested without giving away anything that I'm likely to do :)

The battle lasers are very effective against the Pak because they are precise. While you might not do a lot of damage because they are single damage precise, you can start shuting off systems. With his -1 CQ it is very hard to repair Pak Ships.

We played our game and although good and fairly close we had to call it a day after only two highly tactical turns due to me needing to run out and get to the Forest match.

David took a Primus, an Elutarian, a Maximus, two (new) Demos and two Kutai. I took two Urik-Hals (squadroned), a Halik, two Ikortas and four Sunhawks (squadroned in pairs). David's rolls on the attck table went crazy and until the last couple of attacks near enough half of all attacks were criticals and half of those were 6s on their tables. Also a single set of 12 ion cannon dice rolled 3 hits first time and 6(!) on the reroll against an Urik-Hal. This left him up by about a Raid point when we called it due to time but with the Primus facing the wrong way and the Elutarian adrift (both Ikortas were dead and the Maximus, both Kutais, an Urik-Hal and a Sunhawk were nearly dead).

I got my first crit of the game with my last attack!

We tried the TBS for beams and it seemed to work well even if only two shots were fired with the Primus's battle laser. 6 and 4 hits but both turns felt like runaway hits or complete fluffs weren't likely. Of course this is far too small a sample size.

We'll be playing the battle PL game as a rematch in the near future, with plenty to consider.
 
I've said it before. I always like reading these battle reports, (as well as the trash talking that often goes on beforehand). Thanks for sharing the fun.
