help!love the look of the game but know nothing about it

hi all as the title says i love the look of the models and even know that a couple of lads play at my 'local' gaming club but i know nothing about babylon 5 and was wondering if anyone could help, because this is the only thing that is putting me off the game

if not you may want to buy 'babylon 5 the gathering' (the pilot episode) to get an idea of what its all about. It means spending about 10 pounds but it will make some things a bit clearer, or pester the kids at your wargames club to lend any videos or dvds they may have, one of thems bound to if theyre playing the game.

or keep an eye on the sci-fi channel, very occasionally they show some of the films, as an introduction, 'babylon 5 in the begining' is probably the best as there are no references to things in the series.

Well watching it is a spoiler for series 1.

But its not too bad, it won't spoil it, just mean you know what happened in the past and why certain weird stuff happens.

I saw in the beginning before any of the rest of B5 and I personally found it worked quite well. If anything theres was more in ITB that I didnt understand till later than stuff spoiled from season 1

Oh and I would caution against watching any of the other films until youve seen the rest as theyre both spoilers at times and also, frankly, not very good.

Lastly, DO watch the pilot episode first but whatever you do, DONT base your oppinion of the show on it (or on series 1 for that matter) The show doesnt REALLY kick off till near the end of the first series in my oppinion (dont get me wrong the first season is still very good but its just not anywhere near as good as the holy trinity of seasons 2 through 4 imho :))

ps. If noone has the DVDs they are actually surprisingly affordable for DVD box sets. Check out Amazon or Play.com etc and you can usually find some pretty good prices (you can, if you shop around get ALL 5 series and the movies for under £100)

Yeah, agreed... the first season can be a bit of a drag at times and the acting and SFX are quite poor. But it sets the scene for the rest, and you won't understand much of what comes later if you skip season 1 or the pilot.

at play you can get everything on dvd, except the new mini series coming out later his year, in a ice box for about £130 - and you really do get everything, i think its over 40 DVDs! I think the films are good, not as good as some cinema films but then these were made for TV due to smaller budget etc, however i thought the rangers film was pants. Especially all that virtual fighting stuff, i prefer to erase that film from my memory, that way theres no bad stuff, its just different levels of good.
