Hello Comet

Bardicheart

Mongoose
Thought some of you might enjoy this. An article and photos posted early this morning as the ESA probe Rosetta successfully made its rendezvous with the comet 67P at a brisk speed of about 55,000 kph. Took ten years and a lot of planning to get there.

Its currently about 100km distant, matching speed and course, but its going to get a lot closer and the plan is to eventually land on the comet itself.

Makes you appreciate just how simple space travel in Traveller really is compared to real world technology.

100 ton prospector leaves Earth and rendezvous with yet another comet a few days later, lands and gathers data. Returns home in time for the weekend...

Yeah, different. :)
