Hawkmoon RQII

I do like the Hawkmoon setting.8)
Who will be the Author? Loz and Gar are no longer on the payroll(afaik). Is this, like Elric of Melnibone, going to be just a reissue of the current background with a few nods to MRQ2?
Is there going to anything new? Will there finally be a Hawkmoon book for Scientific Sorcery as was mooted at one point during 1st Ed?

And Corum gets put on the back burner again.

Good luck Pete. I was well impressed with the Vikings book and hope that you can do a similarly good job with Hawkmoon.
Its a hard one to follow on from. It was never the best supported line but what there was, was really good quality. I know that there were the standard gripes about missing stat blocks and appalling maps   but the ideas contained within those books that did see print were awesome. 8)
Are you going to expand upon what's available, will you use the current background or Loz's equally excellent work from the Chaosium monograph, or will you stamp your own authority all over it?

We'll see when the time comes, but it'll probably use Gareth's excellent version as a base and work from there. Whilst I of course do like adding my own touch to projects, I'm not going to re-imagine vast swathes of material just for the sake of it. My strengths lie more along the lines of refining rules, fidelity to core material and an eye for detail.

What I can promise however is that I'll be re-immersing myself heavily into the Hawkmoon sagas before I start and that I've already asked Loz to help contribute to the book. Since I've played in his (still not concluded dammit) epic Hawkmoon campaign for over a decade now, we have an affinity to how each other think in terms of the EC and its myriad versions.

As Pete says, Gareth Hanrahan did a terrific job on the first RQ edition of Hawkmoon and some of the old monograph I did found its way in there. If it was me, rather than Pete working on this, I'd take exactly the same approach Pete is doing.

No idea what I'll be contributing yet, or how, as the next version of HM is some way off, but I always look forward to working with Pete.
