Below is an email conversation between myself and the company, back to front so start on the bottom. Minor edits have taken place to conceal my own personal info:
Hi Mike,

Hi,
Sure, no problem. We have not really announced our 28mm Sci-Fi line but I think that will be ok. Just let everyone know we only have the rights to non-Sony IP and we are changing the Tin Can head and arms…. That will keep people from going “Cool, when are they releasing the Tankers!"

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the reply. Sorry for being a nosey busybody

Totally understandable with Sony. I hope to see more in this line in future in the same spirit of the models you already have.
Regards,
PS: Would you be okay if I posted this information up on the Mongoose forums as other people asked? It is 'No' thats cool, and I won.t

Hi,
We are aware
We bought the non- Sony IP molds from Mongoose. If you look, we put new heads on the Valonians and the bugs we have were created by Mongoose and were not part of the Sony license. The Tin can is getting a new Head and weapons soon. When we did the deal with Mongoose we did not realize the model had a brief appearance in the Cartoon.
We love SST but we don’t want to do anything to upset Sony.
Thank you for the email.
Mike

To whom it may concern:
I saw your sci fi sculpts of 'Space bugs', the 'tin can' and 'Valonians'. I was a big fan of the SST miniatures game, and enthusiastically hoping you are bringing it back in some shape or form. If not, and you have no idea what I am talking about, be warned that those miniatures were done by Mongoose under license. Assuming you were unaware of this, it is something to be careful with. Personally, I would like to see your company add to this particular section of your catalogue and grow, as I would certainly like to add to my old dusty collections.
