Happy Holidays to All!!!

Matt, et al:

Ha! About this time last year I was freezing my arse off in Swindon (my fault, I didn't bring a winter coat!).

I wanted to take a brief moment to wish MGP, and all the forum members the VERY BEST of Holidays and a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Matt: Please give your Dad my regards. Of course, you know I send them to you and Ian as well!

Merry Merry!

Warmest Regards,

Dave

Indeed Happy Holidays to all.

Today was the first day of my holidays from the office, and I'm not back in until the 13th of January.

So much to do around the house, so much time not to do it in

Hope you all have a good one, I'm looking forward to Xmas, but not to my more imminent 30th birthday.

Hold on a sec...

Do you mean to tell me that in the UK you get a MONTH off at Christmas?????

That's it. Screw it. I'm moving.

Not in general no.

You get Xmas, Boxing Day and New Years day off, in Scotland you often get the 2nd of Jan off as well, we need it because we party harder  . (This is for real jobs with proper holidays I'm talking here, I'm an office drone 9-5)

My work also shuts down between Xmas and New Years and makes us take some of our holiday to cover that period.

I had 10 days of holiday left so I carried 5 over to next year to take the week of 5-9th Jan off. I'm using holiday to cover the 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd (my birthday) and 24th off. I also used some flexi time to take the 17th of Dec and the 2nd (I'm Scottish but I live and work in England)and 12th of Jan off since I'm going to a motorbike show on the 9th and wanted a long weekend after it.

So basically I sacrificed a long holiday in summer to spend time at home at Xmas
