Hairy crabs?

So this Giant Crab attacks the ship that the characters are on. It picks up a sailor but drops him overboard when the claw is disabled. It then picks up a PC with its other claw. I roll a 03, and so does the player on his parry. He's using a Naginata, which is two steps below the claw in weapon size. So it can parry, but only blocks half damage. However, the first attack with the claw is to pin the target, a second attack does damage. What happens? As the crab doesn't get a CM, does that mean that it can't pin the target? Or, does the successful attack (which can only pin) mean a successful pick-up?

*Edit* Damn I got it wrong, two sizes lower means nothing blocked. Does it still prevent the CM, though?

BTW, I would like to add an Elric MRQ2 category.
I'm going to add it just after Wraith recon in the MRQ2 main category.

If that's a problem just remove it.

It was the most logical place to include it, since I didn't want, or have space for, a dedicated sea creatures chapter.

Sorry it appears to be giving you problems or offending your sensibilities... Think how the crab feels.

I would have thought "Arachnids & Insects" would have been better, as they are all arthropods.

You're missing the point. The crab has aspirations... Its seen the cetaceans and thought to itself: 'If the bloody dolphins can do it, so can I. And I have the advantage of legs.'

"Yeah, this lobster marched in, givin' it that" (makes ambiguous pincer/talking hand gesture)
