Gun pics

I know thi sis silly but are there any good pics of Traveller guns? There were some good ones in the CSC but it would be nice to see more as well as ones by individual companies. Thoughts?

Depends on what you mean by "Traveller guns" I guess. There's pics of shotguns, revolvers, and autopistols all over the internets for example.

Well said. I think what I'm angling for are weapons like the boarding smg in CSC. Something that obviously is a firearm but has a different feel to it. I want my players to get the feel of the game and what better way than the lump of plastic and steel in their characters hands.

Both the Mark Miller's Traveller book, Emperor's Arsenal, and most of the QLI Traveller: T20 Edition books had great gun illustrations in their supplements, especially the laser and plasma weaponry. And Mongoose's own Central Supply Catalogue has terrific illustrations as well.

The first two had copious illustrations by Bryan Gibson. He knows his guns, vehicle bits and "OH SHI-" combat poses. Marc Miller's (i.e. T4) Emperor's Arsenal is available in PDF from Drivethrurpg and RPGNow (same site really, just different interfaces). Very highly recommended. Has weapons for every TL, multiple TL versions of weapons and every weapon is illustrated. Since it's T4, converting it to MGT shouldn't be that difficult. I ain't a gunbunny and I still dig the heck out of this book. Written by Greg Porter of BTRC fame (and stuff like Guns Guns Guns) to boot! Ah T4, what might have been...

QLI's stuff is theoretically available from QLI but with the state of the owner, your best bet is to purchase anything in pdf form from Drivethrurpg or RPGNow or in stock from a third party retailer (i.e. avoid direct purchase). Traveller's Aide#1 - Personal Weapons of Charted Space is the starter, and has stats for CT as well as T20. The vehicle and ship TA's are pretty good too, tho TA9 the latest one I've not seen and doesn't have any BG art AFAIK being a very delayed product.

I don't know who did the illustrations for CSC, but I do know that the author MJD can supply an exhaustive (sometimes *too much so*) array of weapons.

I'll second the suggestion for looking at stuff by Bryan Gibson. He's one of the definitive artists for a lot of the look and feel of the high tech imperial and alien weapons in Traveller.

Unfortunately I can't point you to any of his work on line at the moment, as all my links for his image galleries are dead! I know he has some works up on the COTI forums though.

He used to have Images Studio(s) on MSN Groups but that closed and changed to Multiply or something.

no art there though

Bryan Gibson's currrent links are up and well, on multiply-

Always been a fan, and yep, I own a nice set of his original art from a few years back...

No updates for quite a while, however.

I'd avoid the RC equipment manual. The images for some of the weapons are fugly in the extreme, the 5mm auto rifle, f/PGMP's and ACR (created from cobbled together pieces from the guns in 2300AD by the looks of it) spring to mind.

Now, the weapon drawings in Traveller 2300/2300AD, on the other hand, are gorgeous.
