Got a glimpse of Project N today

You're trying to get playtesters in trouble, aren't you? :)

Just fishing for a hint...ok, not so much a hint as a request for the name disguised as a semi-clever joke. I've been eagerly anticipating this for a month and distracting myself with Cthonian Stars previews only works for so long.

Besides, it could be Volume Form, the new math miniatures game that makes learning higher order mathematics fun.

is at least N the beginning letter of the name of the fictional universe it plays in?

N is connected to the starship combat of the universe.

The fictional universe begins with another letter (two actually).

Mwahahahahahahahaha!

N = 'Normandy'????

ME = 'Mass Effect'????

:shock:
Burger and I being the few people who would play that?

"My E=mc2 rolls 10 Arithmatic Dice against your Commuative Ring."

"But I have a mobius strip defense, so your attack never reaches my edge."

I have to commend you on that. Though clever, it is the nerdiest thing I've read in a while. And thats saying a lot.

Given what the last joke involving Greg was it's like we've taken a step out of the gutter.

So when will we get an announcement? Is it going to be the delayed S&P?

Does part of the IP's name happen to be a property of matter?

Isn't that a pretty broad category? Doesn't that cover size, mass, colour, solidity, state, solidity, consistency, shape, velocity, ...

As long as we don't have to mark off irrational numbers of damage boxes, it's all good!

All the damage my fleet takes is imaginary! :twisted:

Come to think of it, we know someone who plays B5:ACTA like that.

Hmm, I remember War Without End...the big build up, then nada.

I do hope that this is not going to be deja vu all over again.

Oh I forgot about WWE.

That makes 3 games I have playtested (or at least had playtest material for) that have not appeared.

I'm sure Project N won't be the 4th.

If I were to say that the game involved 'alien side boob' would I be correct?

If I am can I suggest that as a final title for the game?

Here's a suggestion.

Has anyone thought about a simple press release announcing the new game/license? We were told this announcement would be coming at the weekend in S&P. This has been delayed. OK. These things happen. But would announcing the new license in advance of the magazine really be such a bad thing so we could get on with actually talking about the game, rather than just speculating about what it is going to be. I've had a quick look at other forums (Star Ranger, rpg.net, Miniature Wargames etc) and the most worrying thing is no one is even talking about this. So please, can we get the license out in the open so the word, good, bad or disinterested, can be spread.

Thanks.

I'm sure when it's announced, you will all be blown away by the magnitude of it all.... oh ok, I give up, Sarcasm is back.

Just have some patience, this isn't like Blizzard announcing the latest WOW game, it's a niche game in a world of nerds :-) It's barely going to register on most peoples radars, so a press releases isn't really appropriate. Matt said it would be announced in S+P, so hang fire for a day or two. You've waited months since B5 ACTA died, so what difference is an additional day or two?

I think most well known licences have been ruled out, People who know have already said they hadn't heard of it, so I suspect it is a licence more for ease of fluff writing, than to capture the imagination and wow factor of the big name.

I'm struggling to get my head round the notion of spending money on a license which no one has heard of? Surely it would be easier to just create your own background and then no one can complain about faithfulness to the license or lack thereof. Ah well, all will be revealed I suppose. Just sounds like i'll be none the wiser. What's funny is, hearing all the speculation about Mass Effect I was tempted to go off and buy the PC game instead.

Miniatures.

We are not going to release any news of a miniatures game without having lots of pictures of lovely minis for you to gawk at :)

This requires a decent article in S&P or a prepared PDF, rather than a 'quickie' announcement.
