GM question

This is not meant to bea plug, but I played around with some Animate Zombie Rune Spells for The Mad Druid and for "Petty-Magick". I think it needs a bit of balance, but can be done even at low levels.

I always had problem with create zombie/skeleton spells. Make it cost power and your necromancer runs around with a power of 3. Make it so it dont cost power and your necro runs around with a horde larger the one Xerxes invade Greece with .
One thing I been toying with is to allow certain evil types to use power of people they sacrifice for certain enchantments. Perhaps if the sacrifice is worthy they get 1% of the victims power to store in a pool for enchantments or make zombies/skeletons

I see at limited by several things.....

1) Corruption checks, This kind of Necromancery would definatly require a corruption check. If you want to have a gigantic horde of Zombies be prepared to have your character be twisted in mind and body.

2) Avalibility of Material, unless your country is at war with another chances are bodies are going to be a little hard to come by. If a culture in a Fantasy setting doesn;t burn their dead, it's pretty likely they bury them deep and possibly even guard charnel houses. Also certain funeral rites like blessing the body make make it unfit to be re-animated.

3) The local hero factor, sooner or later some Blonde oaf with a shiney sword will get wind of your plans. While this can be nice in the short term, as far as aquiring new working material.... sooner or later somone is going to put and end to you.
