Mongoose
Hi all, I'm hoping someone here with a better knowledge of the MRQ2 Glorantha setting can offer some advice or pointers.
When we started our campaign, we rolled up characters and started playing quite quickly. I chose a nomad following the spirit magic tradition, and the setting was Ralios. Although we're still in our first "adventure", my character's background has already been fairly well defined - a stereotypical horse nomad, mocked by the more civilised members of the party, but damn useful when it comes to buying horses, etc. Nothing too detailed, and I didn't start out with a well-defined backstory, but let's just say this part of his identity has already been established through in-game play.
Then I start reading through the supplements and realise that I can't identify where in Ralios my character could have come from. The East Wilds would be an obvious choice if it weren't for the Walkers' Curse - we could retcon the horse out of the campaign, but that would feel a bit clumsy. (Plus it's going to be a real pain when my character arrives at the end of a journey some hours or days later than the rest of the party.) And I'm not really sure where else I could come from, if not Ralios. I should have remembered this from my RQ2/3 days, but a lot of Gloranthan nomads don't actually ride horses. It would be hard to justify a youngster from Pent turning up in Ralios, but I suppose that may be the way I need to go.
So while it's not a big problem, it would feel a lot more comfortable to play this guy if I knew where he came from, and how he fitted into the world.
Any suggestions?
