Mongoose
Just looking for some info, as am compiling a set of rules for a global VaS campaign. (Just the med is too small.)

Need as many decent strategic points accross the globe as can get.

For those interested it will use a mix of the rules given in the book with the ability to allow for actually manouvering in the campaign turns. Will update as and when.

Cheers Y'all

History generally provides all the really important areas. The Falklands and Drakes Passage; The Phillipine sea, the Bering Sea... the list goes on... pick all the 'choke points' allowing access to different theatres, and any routes linking countries :)

TGT and I were going to have a go at a Phillipine sea and I had it all hex-mapped out, but we never really got going due to dis-satisfaction with the general rules of the game (we really couldn't see it working with such a carrier heavy series of battles).

I agree with Alex - look for choke points, strategically placed islands, ports and harbours etc. History should be your guide in areas over which battles actually took place, and then extrapolate to areas that were more peacful in reality, but which in a hypothetical campaign could be sites of conflict - theevarious major Indian ports, both ends of the Panama Canal, etc.
