They're not just collected within a single volume, they're updated too! New artwork, new content, new stateroom design, more zoomed-in deckplans and point defense nodes aplenty! Not too mention the wonderful charts showing which turret types go where, much appreciated! That Moltke looks more or less immune to missiles and torpedoes now, with all that point defense... :)

Thanks :)

As a class it is deservedly feared. But wait to the Moltke B refit stats are released :)

The OGL versions provided a chance for the SOCS books to get an update, so I dove in and ran amok.

No problem! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

In all honesty, we figured that if we were going to have to make changes, we might as well make some improvements as well. :)

I'll just put this here.

Looking good, as always!

Moltke B? Epic :)

Regarding the Moltke, is it considered the biggest and meanest (zimm-capable) fish in the sea, or does it have its equals among other navies?

Also, the point-defense nodes, are they considered addons to turrets/hardpoints, or can they be placed anywhere?

Hi Annatar.

The Moltke is the biggest and baddest FTL warship in Clement Sector, but not the biggest FTL warship per se.

Heavy Cruisers are 2800dT, battlecruisers 3500dT and battleships are 4500dT. None of those ships are in Clement Sector, not that there is many. The Royal Navy Admiral class battlecruiser HMS Anson was due to depart to Wellington when the Collapse occurred in 2331.

The only other ship that displaces the same as the Moltke (ex Rommel) class in Clement Sector is the Intrepid class assault carrier HFS (ex HMS) Illustrious.

Regarding PD nodes. These, like hardpoints, are allowed one per 100 tonnes of hull and can be placed independently of hardpoint mounts.

Hope that helps :)

Hello again everyone!

I have several things to tell you today and all of them have to do with GKG's product updates. Again, I'd like to remind everyone that while these updates are to comply with changes in the Mongoose Traveller license, we have updated the material as well to go with the second edition of Clement Sector. We have also added material, variant ships, new artwork, and repaired errata.

First, we have Ships of Clement Sector 7-9: Defense Boats and Light Warships. This is a compilation and update of Ships of Clement Sector 7: Perth-class Frigate, Ships of Clement Sector 8: Berlin-class Colonial Destroyer, and Ships of Clement Sector 9: System Defense Boats. If you have purchased (or were gifted) any one of those products, you should be able to go to your updates on DTRPG and download a free copy of Ships of Clement Sector 7-9: Defense Boats and Warships.

If you have not purchased those products before and would like to purchase the newest version, go to this link: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/183563/Ships-of-Clement-Sector-79-Defense-Boats-and-Light-Warships-2nd-Edition-OGL

Second, we have Ships of Clement Sector 10-12: Workhorses. This is a compilation and update of Ships of Clement Sector 10: Lee-class Merchant Vessel, Ships of Clement Sector 11: Fedpost Mail Courier, and Ships of Clement Sector 12: Broken Hill-class Prospector. If you have purchased (or were gifted) any one of those products, you should be able to go to your updates on DTRPG and download a free copy of Ships of Clement Sector 10-12: Workhorses.

If you have not purchased those products before and would like to purchase the newest version, go to this link: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/183565/Ships-of-Clement-Sector-1012-Workhorses-2nd-Edition-OGL-Version

Third, we have bundled the updated Subsector Sourcebooks into The Clement Sector Subsector Pack. If your purchase all five books at once, this results in a 20% savings. You can buy the bundle here: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/183489/The-Clement-Sector-Subsector-Pack-OGL-Version-BUNDLE

And lastly, we have bundled the first twelve updated Ships of Clement Sector books into the Ships of Clement Sector 1-12 Pack. Purchasing all of them at once results in a 19% savings. You can buy the bundle here: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/183567/Ships-of-Clement-Sector-112-Pack-BUNDLE

Hope everyone is having a great day out there. There will be more to come!

So I downloaded all the updates for the material I had previously bought and it went well with the exception of this file: SS4_Sequoyah_OGL.pdf
Batch down load and individual down load both had corrupt copies and were unreadable.

Odd.

I will see what I can do but things like this are usually a DTRPG problem. I will upload a new copy to them but, if you can, it would be most helpful if you could send them a note about it.

I'm not sure it will fix the problem but I have uploaded a new version of the file. If that doesn't help, you'll need to contact customer service at DTRPG.

You can check for corruption in files by using a program to calculate a checksum for the file (e.g. an md5sum). You store the data file and its md5sum on a server and if you think something is wrong, you calculate the md5sum of your downloaded data and compare that with the server's md5sum. Don't know how to do that easily on Windows though. I use it for Linux install images (.iso files)

Not sure if I should post this here, resurrect an old thread or create a new one?

In the player's guide and the expanded version for character creation in the new Clement Sector book there's a bit in the College events where you can choose between an introductory military course or the one where you end up starting your first tour in the military as an Officer.

So if you graduate the Undergraduate College your Education can increase by 1 (or raise to 10 if less than that) gaining 2 skills one at +2 the other at +1 to represent that character's studies.

If passed with High Honours then you can have both of the previous selected skills at +2 or select a third at +1.

For example Nia passes the Undergraduate College with High Honours selecting Mechanics as her field of study which is rated at +2 and chooses Diplomat and Leadership as her other two skills at +1 instead of just Mechanics and one of the other two at +2.

Is this the case?

I have asked about this before but not about this specific part though!

My second question is to do with the change in skill choices for where before you could increase a character's Social Standing by 1 its been replaced by Athletics/Any was there a reason for this?

Its just that with the Clement Sector there's a skill limit based on a character's combined Intelligence and Education score so I was wondering how others handled this?

My third and last question is regarding the character I detailed in that old thread I mentioned above.

She ends up in the Viteges Navy, which I assume counts as a System Defence Force but there aren't any examples of how such a character is developed since previously you would have basic skills and this seems to be more select a specialty career such as Engineer, Crew, Gunner and so forth is that the case?

Yes, that's the case.

We felt that was the better option. You are, of course, welcome to disagree and do otherwise.

Keep in mind that, in Clement Sector's 2nd edition, the rule is somewhat different and only applies during character generation.

Yes, Viteges' Navy would count as a System Defense Force.

If I am following your question correctly, then yes that's the case.
