So it only carried Obs Air.
When you say 17 do you mean 17 flights, this seems to be high.

yes, it was 17 aircraft, not flights. The aircraft were observation aircraft, not fighters or strike birds. Her primary role was to launch recce flights around a task force to scout out the enemy.
