Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Thanks for sharing that good news!

I was lucky enough to find two at a reduced price in a store already, but haven't started to convert them yet. My goal was to make a new transport container underneath so they can serve as alternative Viking transports for my LAMI.

So with 2, do I really need a 3rd? I went to the link and I've got one sitting in the shopping cart and now I'm trying to decide if I should hit the checkout or not.

I got 4 and ended up selling away 2. They are pretty big, too big for a useable viking conversion IMO. I am going to use my remaining 2 as super-transport game terrain pieces.

Anyone else here have these modified yet for the game?

My plan will be to cut off the minigun and paint the canopy down to a smaller window. Then I would like to make a payload compartment that uses up almost all of the space in between the landing struts. The footprint of the compartment should be large enough to justify size 20-30 worth of cargo for either type of large transport.

I decided it was too big early on, so I stopped after blacking out the canopy. Maybe while I'm spraying some stuff in the near future I'll spray it up more.
Here is a pic for scale:
Dragonhawk and Tanker

As far as modding, it is a little of a beast. The chin gun is over sized and needs to be sawed off the fuseage, it doesn't seem to be separate pieces that are easily removed, and have internal wiring for the little LED below the gun. Further, taking it apart is not easy as the tilt fan setup looked more complicated than I wanted to put back together when I started taking it apart.

about 13 years ago i picked up 2 of these Grendel Dropships from a local liquidation warehouse for $5 CDN a peice. I found them packed away in a box back in January, just as i was building my LAMI platoon. Now i use them as Skyhook Proxies.

i don't have pictures of mine, but here is one i pulled of the internet.

they are a little on the small side for SST miniatures, but they work fine as proxies for the moment. I wouldn't proxy then if i had to buy them, but since i already had them, no harm done.
