Gen Con UK

Mongoose
Gen Con UK at Reading University.

I know this is slightly off-topic but

a) will there be a Mongoose stand?
b) will there be MRQ games being played?
c) is anyone from the forum going?

Given that in 27 years of roleplaying I've still not made it to a convention and that this is 20 minutes walk from my house I've got to go and it would be nice to meet up with people from the forum.

We could even discuss statistics...

Heck, I might even have some RPG music for sale by then...

I lived in Barons Court for five years during which GenCon UK was at Olympia, about the same distance away, and went all of once - and that was because someone more or less dragged me there.

I used to go to Games Fair when it was in Reading Uni. It's not necessarily the best venue, but it's not the worst either...

This means I've been attending residential Games Conventions for over 20 years - and I've never been to a Gencon!

I went to the last GenCon UK at Bognor in 2005 (mainly because I got free tickets and accomodation!). Reading will be a veritable Utopia after that... :D

If you can get the money together though, I can thoroughly recommend the US conventions (specifically Origins and GenCon). Lots of fun, and you get to meet some great people.

While the walk would be a bit longer for me, it is really the long swim that will keep me from attending.

The last time I attended Gencon was a Camber Sands...

...in november

Thereafter referred to as Cryo-Gen Con

It'll be good be back at a Games Con @ Reading Uni, especially as the B@*#$&ds wouldn't give me a place on for my History Degree. Still can't complain UKC was fun.
