I sometimes wonder if Wikipedia reads these forums.
Just last week we were all discussing gas giants, their makeup, and fueling in Traveller.
Well, just a couple of days ago wiki's lead article was NASA's Galileo probe [the one that photographed the Shoemaker-Levy impacts in 94]. This probe mission sets the foundation of the majority of what humanity knows and extrapolates about gas giants generally and the article make for some interesting reading.... like the thought that NASA expected to find H2O water vapor about 15 km into the atmospheric layer and that the Galileo deployed probe found LESS electrical activity than expected.
