I bought 2 packets of each as part of a campaign fleet, it took me ages cutting away flash on the furies, but they are so tiny, I expected this, now then, just a query on those.. how do people base them? they have long stems, but they drop throug hthe hole, I don't know wether to leave them like that and glue them straight, or to use some filler on the base, and elevate my furies, how does everyone else do it?

t-bolts... they seem to have a lot of flash under the fuselage, it is going to be one hell of a tricky job to clear out, is this standard, or have I got a duff batch I could try to exchange?

Same with all fighters I've gotten to date - put a blob of greenstuff or other putty under each hole, and gently push the fighter stem into that. Can set them at the height you want (or dont).

I just glued mine in. But they tend to break loose because there isn't a lot of surface area to fix the stem to, so I'm contemplating going back and putting putty underneath - I did that with some Vorlons fighters and it works wonderfully.

My Centauri fighters all just sit flat on the bases. I figured they're too small to mess about with fancy modelling, and their performance so unspectacular I didn't want to glorify the drunken wasters...

cool, I've got some green stuff here, will use that :-)

any thoughts on the bad bad flash on the t-bolts?

The GW sculpting tool is sharp and fine enough to remove flash from small parts. Failing that a nice scalpel set would be a fine investment.

I'm not sure I have the patience! however, I could get my new dremel out and use a sanding bit?! their is enough flash to build a full size t-bolt!

all my t-bolts (ive got nearly a dozen of them) have lots of flash, but i glue mine into the base, so so long as the flash doesnt stop the stem reaching the base, or raising them up too much, you cant really see it that much.

A small nail file can usually get through that sort of flash quite well - just be careful not to file too vigorously.

rats, just come back from the shop, I could have bought a nail file... I do have a very fine file in my tools somewhere that might do, it is predominantly for woodworking, so shouldn't massacre the ships too badly :-)

All the Furies and TBolts I have have had a lot of flash on them as well. I think it is pretty standard for the TBolts to have that little beard under the nose. I just usually cut some of it off to make them fit the base better. I just glue them straight to the base, although I do try to make sure they are all facing the right direction with the others on the same base. :)

Most of my T-Bolts had a big chunk of flash under the model. Easy enough to fix with a knife. Just mind your fingers

I glue the stems directly on to the base (I use round SST infantry ones) using Gel superglue. That stuf should work equally well with the standard hex bases as it works like a filler to some degree.
