Nope, I don't use the ISP's DNS servers at all (they aren't forwarders)...

But already tried Google's DNS and it worked fine for that.
 
Since you're using GoDaddy for registration, you might as well use them for hosting as well. I've had zero downtime for sites I've set up on their servers.
