[Freelance Traveller] Issue 015 Available for Download

FreeTrav

Cosmic Mongoose
The March 2010 issue of Freelance Traveller is ready for download!

This issue offers two reviews, two 'house rules', two adventures, and a new serialization, along with other material that we know you'll appreciate. Download it now at http://www.freelancetraveller.com/magazine/ or http://freelancetraveller.downport.com (and follow the links to magazine downloads).*

* You may have trouble reaching our main site, or you may not see the new issue there. Our hosting company is doing a server migration, and we've updated the new server, but not the old one. The DNS server settings have been updated, but it takes time for the change to propagate. Bear with us; everything will straighten itself out soon. (if you really want to see the site on the new server, you can reach it at http://75.127.103.69/~freelanc/ - unless the host's upstream has screwed the network again...)

Yeah, I've been doing some troubleshooting - the upstream has horked the network, or there's a circuit down somewhere. When I try to trace to the host, it gets stuck in a loop at the upstream. FWIW, the upstream seems to have a reputation for ... low competence; I may eventually have to switch hosting companies because of that.

For now, use the downport mirror.

I seem to be missing issue 14. Is it no longer available?
They haven't updated the link on their site yet. A little judicious predictive hacking*, however, brings up the appropriate page and links:-

Issue 14 splash page - here

Issue 14 ISO A4 format - here.

Edit: * Not that kind.

Ummm... "Whoops"? Yeah, I obviously missed regenerating that component on that page; the links as given above by Alex are correct, and if I can get DNS to behave, I'll get that fixed as soon as possible. Sorry; call it an artifact of worrying about both the update and the migration at the same time.

ETA: OK, I regen'd that page and posted it to the new server. If you can see the download page for March, you can seel that Issue 014 is now on the list of past issues.

FTR, all prior issues are and will continue to be available from the main magazine download page as shown, unless and until I announce otherwise. There's also an archive of the PDFs being maintained at SFRPG, with my blessing.

Thank you alex_greene and Free Trav for pointing the way to issue 14. I'd hate to miss an issue; the publication is one of my all-time favorites.

Is is my imagination or is the A4 format link to ISSUE 2 (February 2010), not Issue 14 (February 2011)?????????

On checking, that does appear to be the case. By now, though, most DNS caches should have the new address, so you should be able to get it through the normal URLs.

The February 2011 issue will be at .../magazine/2011-02/FT014-201102-ISO-A4.pdf for the A4 format; for the US Letter (ANSI A) format, use ANSI-A instead of ISO-A4.

(I recommend using the A4 file for the nookCOLOR; the iPad is probably better using the US Letter file. The nook and Kindle are probably too small to handle PDF well.)
