Mongoose
Hey Guys and Gals,
I have had alot of emails lately asking about the guidelines for submitting artwork, well i figured i might aswell stick them on the forums so fans and potential artists can see them.
OK just send an email to wchapman@mongoosepublishing.com with the following information.
A little about yourself.
It is always good to have a taste of the personalities we'll be working with.
A Link to your Homepage / Examples of your work.
Its key to see the quality of your work, all different styles are used within Mongoose Products so dont be afraid to send us examples of your work even if you think it might not be relevent, sometimes it can be ideal.
Your current Availability
Knowing what sort of free time you have is vital, if for the next 3 months your totally free then we can swamp you with mongoose work (possibly), but if your on and off with different jobs we will have to try and make a note and work around it.
Speed of your Work
Basically how fast you can produce work to the best of your ability.
is it 3 quarter page black and whites a day or 1 full page colour a week?
This information is very important so we can try our best to acuratley announce the release dates for books. Alot of delays come from artists struggleing with the deadline so if we know how fast or slow (remember if the quality is there slow isnt always a bad thing) we can give you adamant time to produce the best quality work.
Asking price
At Mongoose each artist has to sign a freelance contract and in this contract there is a minimum fee for work produced, depending on quality all new artists start at this fee. although depending on the editor or art director these figures may be discussed.
Any more questions?
In regards to artist submissions please feel free to email me any questions you might have. Always here to help anyone with an interest in the creative arts
