free mars

Yes but you are awake . That's all that matters. I have you now

Now what was that question. Oh yes. Any idea where "The Nautilus Coil" by J. Gregory Keyes, was published. Magazine, set of stories. What?

Actually some of us are not posting off topic. We were inquiring about certain things some people know about this future item Mongoose is going to release.

OK. Something relevant.
1. How long does Earthgov, continue"stuffing around" mars ID cards? They were doing it in 2262.

2. If Mars is no longer part of Earthgov, what juristiction does PsiCorp have there? What about their base? Can they grab any Blip ,as long as they are human?

3. How does Marsgov deal with Blips? (It better not be how our GM is doing it. ID bracelets, that laser tattoo you, when they are put on.)Any idea what legislation they have regarding telepaths?

4. How can someone change your citizenship from Earth to Mars without you knowing about it?

5. Is the Blip character class going to be in the book? (Minus the peculiar linking of P-rating to class level.)

----

That could make for an interesting argument because I was told by the GM that Mars wasn't part of Earthgov and so their laws didn't apply.

To quote a stray thought picked up by my character" This looks like it could be trouble."

What actually is Mars' position? Are they seperate to Earth ie completely independant of them. Partially independant? what. We're currently at the start of 2263.

I've often wondered that myself. Back when Crusade was new, the first episode broadcast on TNT showed Mars with the subtitle "Independent Member Earth Alliance." But what that means, I don't know. That they still get EarthForce protection, but govern themselves and get to spend their tax money on mars maybe?

IMO, I think it means that Mars gets protection and trade just as any other EA colony or world, but that they collect their own taxes and organise spending as they see fit without having to be told what to do by Earth.

Though the EA probably strongly hints at them...

And of course they'll be paying money into the EA coffers still for those areas of "support" they're still getting from the EA, like the Naval bases on their soil, the fleet in orbit...

My thinking is that Mars will be an independent colony but nottotally independent. Like Marcus' colony that had to pay taxes but had little other contact. it would be devolved from Earth (a la Scotland in the UK), have some autonomy but still be subject to most Earth Laws including Psi-Corps.

I'm supposed to be on a diet, and the name of this topic *really* isn't helping me :x

"There's no such thing as a free Mars!"

Shall we call it Free Galaxy instead? Free Snickers?
