This is one of the reasons why ACTA needs specific basing conventions and they need to enforce them in tournaments.
And this is why I don't play tournament games.

Indeed, considering that unified basing rules aren`t always the most practical... Hyperions with large bases, single based warlocks....

The only tourneys we hold overhere doesn`t enforce any case of uniformity, they just rule that the `model goes before the rule` so teh best basing is fine... and counters are good for learning a fleetm but nor voor what is ultimately a miniature game tourney

Guess aside form all stop and pivot I do not see any scenario in which a ship could turn its base away while not moving. And all stop and Pivot has plenty of restrictions so I am not terribly worried it would unsettle the world.

You want inconsistency, wait until you try to move that capitol ship with the half dozen fighter bases on it. Never get them back to the right spot.

All that aside a set of tourney bases sizes would be nice. Could even use little coaster type templates under whatever bases the owner liked when he put them together.

I'm going to get large, cylindrical stems for my models. Get within an inch of that, sucker!

YARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Oh Hash you forgot the barbed wire round the top. Don't want any sneaky fighters climbing up...

The rules don't say anything about stem thickness or decoration, do they? ;)

No neither do they say anything about remotely detonated firecrackers on bases.

Yes put your fighters on that base. The depth charge is gonna get you ARRRRRRRRRRRRR
