Does anyone know if the new models were delayed due to maybe resizing the new models to something smaller. I was thinking our grumblings may have been answered.

Most likely they were delayed to co-incide with the release of the Armageddon book. No point in having the models without the stats.
But, I'm not "in the know", so could be totally wrong.

That would make some sense, and if, as has been hinted, the molds collapsed for being the size of a small country, then I for one would love to see ships in the proper scales. the EA ships are right, but why is the new Narn warship double the size of the current one, then the super drednought even bigger. I would understand a small jump in size, but these were proposterosly large. All i could assume from this, is that um, err, actually, no idea what I assumed, apart from I was going to make my own armageddon ships!

They look really awesome. Really dominating on the battlefield. I'm sorry to say this, but some people are never satisfied.

But that is hardly in scale with the rest of the game. An Omega destroyer's length is not 1/3 the diameter of a planet.

If they were in scale, we'd be using very small minatures.

Looking at the pictures kicking around the Brakiri/Abbai PA System is on two of the large ship bases. and they are 2" in diameter (about the size of a medium moon).

I assume this was aimed at me. fair enough, however 30 quid for a miniature when your previous big ship was £12.50. . . as was once said, this is a minatures game, not a bigiatures game :) the Kabintak takes 3 turns just to move it's own length!, don't get me wrong, I like the kabintak model design, and the neroon, i just want them scaled better.

Exactly, they're not in scale, we're not using very small miniatures, so you can't compare them to the size of planets!

But then things get all problematic as you fing you cannot use some of your ships guns because the target minature is wider then the range. Or you loose some fighters because you couldn't see them on the base under the minature.

My main problem is that the huge new "minis" look just plain wrong when placed against the existing models.
The excessive size also causes problems for transportation, storage and display.
If the molds did collapse due to their undue size, maybe that's no bad thing...perhaps the universe is sending someone a hint.

Display can`t be that much a problem, from painting desk to display closet takes me, errrrm, turning my chair around. transporrtation on the other hand, I thought the Vicky D was already a b***h to move safely with its triangular form

 I can just see it.

Minbari Player: I'm going to fire my anti-matter thing. The one with 4" range that I never get to use but I'm actually in range!

Narn: You're still not in range. The stem is 5" away.

Minbari: But...I can't get any closer!

Narn: HA HA!

Doesn't matter, all measuring is centre of base stem to centre of base stem.

Since models aren`t allowed to be physically on top of each other (somewhere in the basic rulebook, says either to power your engines or all stop) a model with a 5" diameter and his base in its center IS safe from a 4" gun as the stems never can get in range of each other, as the shooting vessel probably will have like an inch or an half inch of `physical mass` as well...

MSprange has said that escorting and attacking fighters are allowed to move onto the base of their target/friendly ship, it was mentioned in one of the tourney threads for Saturday.
