Here's a straightforwardly silly First Age Gloranthan poll: are you for Arkat or for Nysalor?

Here's my outing: I'm all for Arkat. For very deep philosophical reasons:

1) Knights are cool.
2) Sorcerer-Knights that go HeroQuesting and give gods a sound beating are super-cool.

3) Trolls are cool (in Glorantha)
4) Crazed Zorak-Zorani Trolls that fight chaos to the bitter end (and after) are super-cool.

5) Crazed sorcerer-knights that become Trolls to fight to the bitter end and beat the tar out of artificial chaotic gods are THE AWESOME.

But if you like custom made elf-loving illuminati speaking in riddles and sprouting tentacles below their immaculate togas, go on and vote for Gbaji...err...for Nysalor.

I opted for Nysalor. Trolls are cool but Nysalor gave them a great gift when he cursed the race. Now they are doomed to quest until they find a solution.
Anyway it is also better for adventurers to fight a bunch of trollkins than real trolls.

Moreover Arkat was too narrow-minded, whereas Nysalor offers to consider what is and what may be under different perspectives.

Arkat, for all those crazy Arkat cults that his legend has spawned, with the help of the Godlearner pogrom in the 2nd Age, that plague 3rd Age Ralios.

Nysalor, pah he's just a pale shadow of his former self ;)

I'm for Nysalor of course, without him there would have been no Arkat...

Enigmatic grin

Im not sure this is silly at all, theres some serious philosophy involved here.

Arkat was an oik. Pretty one-dimensional and boring with it.

Nysalor, of course.

Arkat was just an opportunistic creep who wasn't ashamed to try find out exactly how low he would stoop to get his own way. "Oh boo-hoo, I don't like this new god. I know! I'll wreck half the world and make a mess of the mythic landscape for ages to come."
