You'd think. But they don't, for some reason. And I don't even fire all 3 ships' weapons at it. Only 2 WSs are usually sufficient to kill a Marathon in a single round of firing. Without doing anything with the beams, mind.
 
How? I'm not doubting your word, just curious as to how this happens. 2 basic White Stars have 8AD of pulsars between them. Assuming that the whole lot hit the Marathon's hull 6 and that all 4 of the Marathon's interceptor dice come up 1 on the first roll, that's 16 points basic damage. A Marathon has 40 damage. The White Stars need to score at least 12 points of bonus damage from criticals, which then gets doubled to 24. So the White Stars aren't just getting lucky numbers of hits, they're getting lots of lucky criticals as well.

At Mavencon last year, the Pulsars made a Marathon go BOOM. Not just dead. BOOM.
