Fighting ancient races!!

Just wondering what tactics everyone would advise in deploying against the Shadows and Vorlons as they both seem to have obvious advantages of being rock 'ard!

I'm playing in Burger's Sentient Rabbits tourney but am struggling on whether to build my force to counter the Shadows or the Vorlons as they are both difficult enemies but they are both very different in how they fight, one being super stealthy (obviously requiring me to take a scout) and having short ranged weaponary and another having long range beams. I'm playing Minbari if anyone could throw a few ideas my way?

what size games are they as havent looked.
obviously take a leshath as that totally negates stealth on passed CQ checks.
you also have plenty of beams and dont have to worry about hull 6 ships.

hmm, well leshath and 4 teshlans would be my choice. dont really wanna get close enough to use the tigara. some people might drop a teshlan for an ashinata as this is another good raid ship but doesnt have the DD beams you need and that are good for pinning shadows.

Take a Leshath to counter the Shadow Scouts Stealth.

Long range beams to counter the Vorlon ranged beam, 18" on the Transport and 24 on the Destroyer....if memory serves me correct.

Also fear the Vorlon Fighters ...oh yes, fear them.

I was thinking about maybe using the Leshath, an Ashinta, a single Teshlan/Tigara and then either a Vashatan or a Troligan?

The idea being that:

Leshath - negates stealth
Ashinta - advanced anti-fighter 6 and escort
Teshlan or Tigara for beating on other ships (bad at soaking damage though)

and either a Veshatan for some major beamage or a Torligan because if im after shadows (it is the benny hill scenario so i might not be) i'll get the 18 inch guns and the 8 inch guns if the shadows get within range to shoot at me.

Not too scared about disclosing my fleet because the shadows and vorlons have very limitede choices as to what they can take and theyre all pretty hard.

The shadows will also negate most of my stealth i reckon so taking a Battle Level ship with lots of damage soaking capability and a high hull would maybe be a good idea anyway?

Lesthatt and either:
A Sharkaan
or a sharoos

Sharkaan just hope you get a good beam roll and the lesthatt lowers the stealth as if so there will be nothing left.
Sharoos fill the board with lasers! Jumping one of those into the middle of the board would be funny. Actually it may seem mad it may just work and to add to the fun you can attempt a JPB with it when it comes in!
