Fighters In Support

Hi Guys,

If a Ship is escorted by four fighters and 2 of the fighters are engaged am I right in saying that those engaged fighters (IN dogfight) cannot support each other.....The other 2 fighters can only support the engaged fighters if able to get into base contact with the attcking fighters.

Secondly If a fighter is engaged in a dogfight and has a fighter in support (1 in dogfight 2nd in support), can a second fighter engage the supporting fighters as this is not enaged in a combat but simply supporting?

If you have 4 fighters flying "on support" of a ship and two of these are directly engaged by enemy fighters, then no, they cannot support (give +1 to dogfight) each other. Your other 2 can only help if they can get into base contact of the dogfight, which is obviously impossible if you've already moved your fighters, but if your opponent is moving fighters first then you will get the chance to do this.

If a fighter is supporting another fighter, and the supported one is attacked, the supporting one immediately moves to dogfight the attacker. This dogfight is resolved immediately, therefore no other fighters can move to help on either side.
