Good rule though. About time that fighters got to ignore stealth (at least close up). At those ranges...I can SEE you, all that electronic masking won't help. I remember Sinclair's run in at that Sharlin...

Plus fighters have actual cabs through which the pilots can see. As opposed to the capitol ships that have bulk-heads; which don't really make very good windows.
