Fighter help

Ok I've played both B5 Wars and Fleet Action, so that may be the reason for my confusion here. So here are my questions:

1) A PL Patrol of Aurora fighters is said to be 4 "flights". Does 4 flights mean 4 fighters? If not, what exactly is a "flight" of fighters?

2) The Hyperion-class Cruiser houses 1 "flight" of fighters. Is this the same "flight" mentioned above?

My thinking is that every "Flight" is made up of 6 fighters (B5W/FA mentallity), and that the PL Patrol is just a way to buy several Flights without purchasing the ships that would normally carry them. Any help would be appreciated.

A flight represents one base (which is made up of 6 fighters.)

Correct. :)

To illuminate that further, each "Flight" of Fighters is a _Base_ of Fighters, regularly containing Six Fighter Models on them.

Each Patrol Point of Fighters, a "Fighter Wing" contains several of these "Fighter Bases" or "Flights."

Each "Base" of Fighters in the following picture is one flight. There are two Flights of Fighters in the picture, one being Aurora Starfuries, the other Thunderbolts.

This is a flight:

This is a wing (Aurora Starfury has 4 flights):

The rulebook is consistent (in this case, anyway ;)). Whenever it says flight it means a flight, whenever it says wing it means a wing.

But remember that that applies to ANY base of fighters.
If you see a rectangular base with 6 fighters or a square one with 8 or a triangular base with 3 fighters, the operative word is Base.

Actually, the operative word is flight :P

You could have just one fighter if they are the old ones from B5Wars. That's how all mine are. It may not look like a hoard of fighters on the table but the models are so nice.
