Fifth Frontier War ?

Banded Mongoose
Will be seeing a book that covers the upcoming Fifth Frontier War, or will that incident somehow be avoided in this new incarnation of the Traveller Universe?

I think our best bet to get something like this answered is the "State of the Mongoose" due out sometime this week.

Now that was an incredibly fun Traveller event when it first came out in JTAS. Freaked out my entire gaming group since our first knowledge of the war was coming out of jumpspace right in the middle of a fleet action between the Sword Worlds and the Imperium.

The Fifth Frontier War..days of boredom interrupted by minutes of sheer terror.

After reading the SotM, I think that the revamped ACTA rules will be tied to the start of the 5FW.

Imagine being able to fight the battles of the 5FW using the ACTA rules refined with the Babylon 5 setting!

THEN we can have Earth Force ships fight Zhodani and Imperial ships fighting off Shadow attacks! (HOPE AND PRAY)

I presume a Mr Morden could find someone who needs assistance to attain their true destiny and strength?

also its far more effective to have others fight for you :P Wouldn't the Shadows simply offer assistance to one (or even both sides at different times) -

That kind of crossover could be fun...

Imagine if you will a Sworld Worlder Empire using Shadows to fight the Daryens and keep the 3I at arms length.

The Swordworlders could plunge the entire Spinward Marches into chaos with some Shadow backing without much difficulty. Vargr are natural Shadow allies with their chaotic nature. Hivers are Vorlon puppets of course (darn manipulative starfish/angels).

The Vorlons of course would back either the Zhodani or the 3I, depending on your outlook, maybe both...

You could really have fun with something like this once the B5 Book is out...

Well the Shadows went beyond the rim - maybe they went to another universe to ............help.......... them achieve their true potential :D

Also keep in mind that the events surrounding Babylon 5 Station are within the next three hundred years, while the reign of Emperor Strephon is ~3000 years from now.

Perhaps the Minbari are out beyond what the Third Imperium calls Known Space, watching, keeping the Shadows and their minions at bay, while Humanity comes to grips with itself.

You know......visualizing the Vilani as the Centauri has a certain appeal to it.

Hmmmmm...........

I can almost see Londo with a drink in his hand, blustering "back in the days of the glorious Ziru Sirka, we had dozens of <insert race here> servants attending to our every need..."
