Fiddler's Green in for Approval

MJD's company (Avenger Enterprises) publishes officially licensed OTU adventures through Mongoose. All OTU products must be approved by Marc Miller. That's where the new adventure is currently (in the approvals process).

MJD, what if anything can you tell us about Fiddler's Green?

Heh, I thought it had something to do with the company that makes cardstock airplane models (in 1/60 scale, even!)

I was thinking Patrick MacNee and Diana Riggs, myself.

Now I know better.

Avenger-Comstar make some awesome Traveller products. They sell their stuff through drivethrurpg and also have their own sites. I've picked-up some of their products and am very impressed with the quality, unfortunately they are pretty much PDF only (for those that like hard copy like me).

MJD's Avenger/Comstar products, as well as his work on T20 makes me very excited to see what he puts out for MGT. The classic era stuff as well as the TNE 1248 and Gateway Domain lines are excellent, I'd like to see them done for MGT (although Gateway Domain (T20) probably isn't very likely).

I'm relatively new to Traveller, but MJD is quickly becoming my favorite Traveller author.

MJD - BTW, why don't you add some links to Avenger/Comstar so new people know who you are and what you've done?

Hey there AKAmra,

You are 100% correct about Martin. I am a member of his site and have been always nagging on him about creating "Printed" copy items instead of ".pdfs" He does write good stuff though, and I hope Mongoose forces him to create printed stuff for them.

Here is there website for Martin:

I had thought that Martin was writing Beltstrike, but a quick check shows that it is Bryan Steele. Bryan has written 760 Patrons for Traveller, which I haven't picked-up yet, and I see that he has written a lot for OGL B5 and MRQ. I presume that Mr. Steele will be writing the Traveller B5 books and I look forward to reading them.

Is Martin slated to write any more printed products for MGT? I think Spinward Marches was good, especially his overview of the OTU. His knowledge of the OTU really shows in his ability to convey the history in a short page count. Of course MGT: SM would have been better if Martin had been allowed to make the changes/corrections that he wanted, but that's Miller's bad and is history now.

Yes, I will be writing more Traveller for Mongoose as well as our own Avenger line which ties in closely. Indeed, having just got home from Scotland yesterday I'm due to start my next book for Mongoose any minute... now.

I'm also supposed to be working on a collaboration with Loren Wiseman but last I heard he was working up ideas. No idea where that project has got to as yet - Loren has the ball on that one, so to speak.

For Avenger we have the long-delayed Project Steel (in print) coming through. Fiddler's Green is written but for stats and went to Marc for approval last week.

The current Avenger plan is that most adventures will be part of a trilogy or a block of three similar-interest adventures, which will then be compiled into a print publication, possibly with some additional material.

Fiddler's Green (not surprisingly, given the title) is set on a mid-tech world just outside the Imperium where order is kept by mounted police. Cavalry, if you will.

It is a rather violent adventure featuring horses (and kian), trains, gunfights and stuff exploding.

Fiddler's Green has been approved. SITREP 1 is in for approval.

Project Steel is in final production (still).
