Mongoose
My kitbash of the Federation Tug. Used a CA as well as some tubing and green stuff. Used Tenneshington Decals. They had a great guide for the size of the pod (circumference).

Great job.
I need to get my pod completed and then get it painted up... but there always seems to be another thing to do before sitting down at the paint bench...

Don't forget to send your finished tug pictures to Jean Sexton for inclusion on the ADB Facebook page... she loves pictures. :)

Very nice work.

Out of curiousity, did the decals for the transport pod come from Tenneshington? I noticed that it says "STARFLEET" rather than "STAR FLEET", which might be a problem. (The terms of ADB's licence with Paramount require the use of "Star Fleet" in the SFU, and officially-licenced tie-ins must abide by this also.)

Hi Nerroth,

Thank you.

Yes, it did come from Tenneshington. I'm not aware of the licensing so can't comment. Their decals are fantastic, plan to order more very soon.

It's one of those little details which ADB have to be careful about using.

There are a few others; ADB uses Kzinti/Kzintis instead of Kzin/Kzinti (and the SFU Kzintis have cat ears, no tails, sentient females, and an ancient genetic connection to the SFU-native Lyrans and Carnivons), SFU Klingons have no brow ridges and don't speak Okrandese, and so forth.

ADB also uses "Gorns" in plural, but I'm not sure if that is due to the licence, or simply a choice made by themselves for their own purposes. (If I were to guess, I think it may have come from the history written up for the Confederation, which has three genetically-identical Gorn species seeded on separate planets, which joined together to forge a star-faring society.)

Gary: The lay out for the Tug decals came directly from the FJD Star Fleet Technical Manual, which as you know was the basis for the SFU license. That image lists it as a single word.

Rest assured though, now that you have brought it up - I will inquire directly and if necessary, changes to all future decals will be made.

Kent, hang on to your mini - it my become a 1 or 2 produced, collectors item!

Word from the Powers That Be: "Star Fleet is two words"

So all future TUG decals will have Star Fleet as two words.

Thanks for the catch, Gary.
Kent, when you cash out your mini to retire, can I come spend a week at your luxury retirement estate? Since it will have been purchased through my error!

I guess that's one thing about being involved with the SFU for any period of time: once you learn to see certain naming conventions, it's not so easy to not see them. (At least the osmosis/"training" came to some use this time around.)

Ironically, there is at least one such convention I can use here but not on the FC forum, since the latter board prefers I type "ae" instead of "æ".
