Federation Destroyer minis - DDL and DDF

Mongoose
Got around to making another DDL for myself tonight:
I started with a Federation Command Cruiser miniature..
But since I had an extra "upper" nacelle from a Fed dreadnought - I decided to use that:

Then I decided to make the miniature visually distinctive on the tabletop...
So I changed horses mid-stream and went with the neck off of a Federation BCH - including the gun-house.

In this image, you can see the locating holes in the saucer and nacelle, as well as the corresponding mounting pins in the neck.

Hey Scoutdad,

That Leonidas looks familiar  ! Nice work as always, love you paint schemes. On those Orion's I think the paint added to stealth!

Finished the Fed destroyer fleet assembly tonight.
11 Federation Destroyers
1 DDF (Fast Destroyer), 1 DDL (Plasma Armed Destroyer), 6x DDG (Drone armed Destroyer), and 3 DDs (standard, under-powered, 4-photo variant).
Now to paint and detail them.

I'm always impressed with what you did with your resin stuff.

On the size of your collection, are you going to be playing the Klingon/Federation front on 1-2-1 scale?

Very nice.

Question, where did you get all those resin ships? Can you still order Fed ships in resin?

Thanks.

I suspect that Tony has become a master scrouger, buying up every resin mini he can from people selling their stuff, etc. :D

Bill has the jist of it.

I hoarded many of my resin minis... I've bought a few... scrounged a few... traded a few...and when the change-over to pewter announcement was made, bought ever single one I could find.

Although, if anyone has any resin heavy cruisers or fast cruisers they want ot part company with, I am still "hoarding"

Tony was a at one time, a nice, well-mannered youg man. Then he began collecting and modifying resin miniatures.
At first it wasa minor past time - then the resin got into his system and priorites changed. Now the well-organized gameroom with tastefully displayed starships has become a veritable, dead-letter office with boxes and boxes of mail-order shipments, ebay acquisitions, and maybe even some black market resources of all shapes, sizes, and empires stacked floor to ceiling.
Bits and pieces of hacked minis lay scattered on the floor... the desk... everywhere...

Even his wife and family are afraid to venture into "the cave"...
Unsure if they will may it out again...

Sunday evening, channel 1701...
