Fed DNF question

Just a quick question - on the DNF, the two plasma torps that are added are two separate weapons each with an F arc and a stat line as any normal Plasma-F.....you do not combine them into a 4AD plasma F single weapon block (surely?)

Tim

Plasma is one weapon system where the AD of individual torpedoes are important. You can't split fire with a 4AD torpedo for example, but 2 2AD torpedoes would allow you to target 2 opponents. This will be why you don't get a combined stat line.

I haven't used the DNF but I did use the BCF one time. I did indeed have two separate weapons sytems with 2AD. It was against he Romulans and I thought it would be fun to catch my opponent off guard with a carronade!

It wasn't overly successful, but it was just one game. The carronade is so short range I'm not sure its worth it.

Next time I'll just let it rip as a regular plasma - they are harder to shoot down than drones at least - or maybe I'll bolt it along with the photons and hope for a shield penetrating crit!

I think both the BCF and DNF have a level of synergy they never had in SFB - being that the photons and plasma are on the same arming cycle in ACTA. I certainly think its a better ship than the BCJ just because it can unleash everything on one turn.

I'll definitely consider using one of them when fighting other races that don't use drones (otherwise the Kirov is just too good with its awesome drone defense).

A Plasma doesn't have AD as such, it is a Plasma F or G or S. It is a seperate weapon so the Two Plasma Fs are two lines on the chart each being one F arc plasma F.

As a side note allow me to congratulate a Federation member of seeing the light and converting to Plasmas.

We can do you a good price on Plasma Fs and even send technicians to help you install them on your cruisers and destroyers as well

Wouldn't the Gorn need to install more sensitive controls for the weaker Humans for the Plasma F's to work? We all know the Gorn do like their big buttons and switches that go THUNK a lot :).

Just what is wrong with things going Clunk. That’s good Gorn engineering that is.

Damm effeminate Federation switches going click or ding or some such silly little noise. Electronic noises and flimsy little switches are for children to play with.

I even heard a joke about Federation doors going swosh.

We could sell you a bag of hammers if you need help with the buttons

As a honourable Romulan. I would recommend big sledge hammers for the Feds. Taking twice as long to fire :). When they fire the stolen Plasma F tech the have to spend time resting between swings.

Sorry. What?

As a who. No such thing. Those two words do not go together.

Unless you forgot to add the "Less" to that satement

Ohhhh, you must be thinking of those pesky TNG "Romulans". Because in the Original source material I do believe that it is the underhanded Klingons who are constantly trying to backdoor the Federation, while the Romulans treat their prisoners with honor and dignity all whilst having their technology stolen by some pesky thieving Federation spies.

Heh, I'll pass the congratulations on to the player - but it wasn't a choice of going for the plasma - he is a new player and it was simply the largest single ship he could squeeze into the budget.

FOr me if it doesn't fuse, its a secondary gun.....

What, those Romulans that snuck across the neutral zone in cloaked ship and blasted an outpost with a plasma weapon? Very honourable that.

There are only three race types in the SFU. The Federation - fine upstanding creatures of goodness and light, the Kzinti, Gorns and Tholians - barbarians but washed and the Klingons and Romulans - unwashed barbarians that only come in two subclasses, thugish or sneaky thugish. :P
