Ok, I realise that this question has probably been asked before on this forum, but please humour my curiousity.

I just bought the season 3 box set, and the very first episode I sat down to watch was Severed Dreams. It has a space battle (always cool), but it is the fact that it is a real turning point episode that makes it my favourite. You get the feeling that Sheridan has opposed the way things are going on earth, and what Clark is doing, but up until this point its always been clandesdine. This episode in a way is kind of a line in the sand for him. To cross that line, and do whats right, he has to declare against earth gov. Or he will loose any chance he has of standing against the darkness. For someone who had spent the better part of 20 years serving earth this would be a hard call, and Bruce Boxleiter get this across quite well. Also it's kind of cool to see that dispite the bluster, earthforce really doesn't to have to fight against the Minbari.

Oh well, thats me. Like I said sorry if this has come up before, but I am curious to see what other people consider to be their favourite episode(s).

There's no question in my mind about the best episode. The Long Twilight Struggle at the end of Season 2 where the Centauri Republic finally crushes the Narn Regime is just great. Both G'Kar and Londo have great dialogue in this episode combined with what is one of the coolest sequences in the series. You just get the chills as you watch the last hope of the Narn Regime get crushed with almost casual ease. G'Kar being forced to swallow his pride for the good of his people and you get the first real look of Londo realizing that perhaps, just perhaps his hopes and dreams have a cost that's much higher than he originally realized and that whether it's worth it. There's not a single bad moment in that entire episode.

Now I want to watch it again. :D

Honorable mention goes out to And the Rock Cried Out "No Hiding Place!" in Season 4. I rather enjoyed watching the Narn finally get their revenge on one of the great architects of their downfall. Londo does a pretty good job later on(Season 5) of punishing himself far more effectively than the Narn ever could although nobody but G'Kar and Sheridan will ever realize this. Willingly giving yourself to a Keeper and even worse(although Londo didn't realize it at the time), effectively putting your entire race into slavery to the Drakh. Instead of the Centauri rising as he dreamed, Londo gets to personally turn them into puppets. I'm sure the Drakh killed far more people under Londo's reign than they would've by setting off the nukes they'd planted.

Severed Dreams is amazing.

And Now for a Word gets an honorable mention. I like the media coverage of the story and leads up to the great battle between the Primus and G'quan. This episode hooked me on B5.

Severed Dreams is probably my favorite overall. Followed by The one where they liberate Proxima III, Endgame, and Sleeping in Light. And the one with the green and purple Drazi. I just always thought that was a funny episode. Honorable mention goes to the storyline where Ivanova has to play diplomat with those aliens and "have sex" with them at the end. Hilarious. I miss B5.

I love the part in Severed Dreams after they beat back the first wave and it seems like they won then the second wave shows up and everyone's faces fall and then Corwin detects more jump points behind them and Sheridan just crumbles, thinking he did the wrong thing only to find out it is Delenn. Awesome moment.

another great episode "Interludes and Examinations"

the confrontation between Sheridan and Kosh was edge of seat stuff. Finally seeing the Vorlons show up and kick the Shadows' ass was a brilliant moment.
Then we get two tear-jerking moments before the end. Great stuff

wow, you've all hit my favorites already, about all I can think to add was the episode that was all done from the Psi Corp perspective, can't remember the name off the top of my head.
There are a lot of really good shows in B5. that's what made it a strong series.

My favourite Episode is Severed Dreams, directly followed by Endgame.

I have never such amazing space battles before

Well, I think you'd have to limit that definition of "great space battles" to TV shows...the space battle in Return of the Jedi is still probably my all time favorite...

 My mind fizzled for a bit there. I blame the Keeper that isn't attached to me.

Do not worry, for the Keeper will grow back. They always do...

I'd go with Severed Dreams, War Without End and Endgame. :)

Sorry but for me it has to be And the rock cried out, No hiding place.

The politics, the personal stories and then the death of Refa, was just awesome. I can't think of a single thing in the whole episode that wasn't just spot on.

Cordas>Why are you sorry? Are you saying that it's a bad episode but that you like it?

And it looks like as a group we're pretty consistent about what we consider the best.

Sorry that everyone else is wrong ;) I just feel that episode summed up for me what B5 was all about.... it wasn't about the space battles so much as the personal stories.

Sleeping in Light. No doubt.

Then Chrysalis/Z'Ha'Dum.

Coming of Shadows

Comes the Inquisitor

B4 squared/War without end

Intersections in Real Time

And All My Dreams, Torn Asunder
Movements of Fire and Shadow
The Fall of Centauri Prime

Some of my favourites :-)
