Excel Ship Designer v2025.07.22

Found an issue with power requirements display. Building an Agriculture Station. Optional Components power should be 675 per the power calculation but the Power Distribution section of the Power worksheet only shows 7. 668 comes from equipment in the 9b-Optional worksheet, that is what's not being added to the Power Distribution section.

Does this spreadsheet work with excel for a tablet
I do not know.
I have used it in the past on my Kindle, but not for a couple of years. I only use the commands that were available on the 2016 version I was using when I started it, and no VBA, so it SHOULD work. This was also done in an effort to make it convert to the non-excel sheets out there, like Libre. In other words it is all vanilla legacy commands, so one would expect that if Excel works on your tablet, this will.

Which succeeded really well, it works perfectly in Libre Offics (except the tab colours, but who cares about that!)

Thanks for the latest release.

I did notice that on the Summary Tab, the Fuel entry it displays the following "1 Jumps Available x 1 pc, 4 Weeks of OperationFALSE"

What is triggering this FALSE?

Apologies if I am missing something obvious, but in the Screens sheet the options go straight from Deflectors at TL10 to Energy Shields at TL16. There's a step in-between those in High Guard (p.83) for TL14 Energy shields (five times the power and cost, four times the volume) that I can't see how to choose.

Not you. It has been that way for three years. Missed updating from HG16.

2025.07.17

Improved and Advanced Energy Shields added... Oops. Thanks Endie.

Matt confirmed that the Core update, with six ton bridges for 100 ton ships is the current standard.
I have updated the sheet to reflect that, BUT since we have so many 100 ton ships with ten ton bridges, including every example of 100 ton ships in the book that gives them 6 ton bridges, I have added a toggle to use Core or HG'22 rules. The HG22 rule will give you a warning.

New Version 2025.07.22

100 ton ships now have 6 ton bridges
Added Comms to the standard list of skills for robotic crew

Was building an alternate Empress Marava with MixCorp Improved AutoBerth Clusters. They show up correctly in the Stateroom sheet and in the Stateroom section of the Summary sheet but they are not included in the Passenger Summary on that sheet or on the Cargo sheet under the Mandated Passenger Storage line. They are also not calculating in the Profitability section.

MixCorp is outraged at this oversight. ;)

Arkathan I know we have the summery page in the spreadsheet and that’s an awesome tool but would be possible to add a printer friendly page one that doesn’t list errors and prints the write up that doesn’t list jump fuel when a ship doesn’t have jump. Possibly also void of the cell framework.

Should be able to figure something out on that.
It will probably involve toggle fields on the Ship's Info tab, like the one for shading.

Won't get uploaded until I figure out custom staterooms on the profitability tab, but here's a sneak peak.
