Although that is not unexpected, I am disappointed in a "I knew better, but am still bummed" that it won't see a theatrical release.
The King said:I hope this film and those which follow after that will be as precise as possible.

Not me. I've got a home theater system. . . why should I pay $8 to see it once, when I can pay $15 and watch it as many times as I want.
Sure. . . there are some movies that call for a theater-sized presentation. . . I just don't feel that this is one of them. My 56" will do just fine!

Unfortunately. . . all I think it would accomplish is to stay in theaters a week or less to dismal receipts, cost the company a lot in advertising money, and guarantee that a sequel wouldn't be made.
The general public just doesn't care about this kind of stuff for the most part. Lord of the Rings was something that only comes along every 20-30 years or so. . and was largely driven by a cast that chicks of all ages found attractive. An animated movie has zero chance of drawing in that crowd. . . it would just be us diehard REH/Conan fans, and the truth is there just aren't enough of us to matter much.
