Everybody OK after the quake?

I liked the report about that crack in Kent, the costal and marine experts say yup the crack was caused by the earthquake, but the police say there was no connection....

Since when did the Police become experts on the effects of Earthquakes....... Maybe they are just covering themselves so they don't have to investigate it or something. (I am talking British Police where we have very few and generaly not very powerfull earth quakes.)

Well, here in the States, if there's a report about crack somewhere, the police are expected to investigate. So, someone said there was crack in Kent, and they showed up... :D

Hey now, it's Americans don't do current events. Keep it straight!

I was just parrotting what cordas said about the earthquake location; I always sleep through the ^%*$ things, which is as good a reason as any for moving away from California.

Although now that I think about it, having the police be sent to the wrong place to follow up on homonymous crack reports makes the whole thing even sillier...

Couple of things, I ain't a Geordie, I am a Northumbrian.... and as I said it was south of the Tyne so I ain't bothered as it didn't sink the home counties.... unfortunatly

By a blind fluke, I was in Folkestone visiting my parents when the quake hit. This was a first for me, and a pretty freaky experience. My parents' dining room (where we were all sitting) suddenly and inexplicably turned into the bridge of the USS Enterprise for a few seconds. Things leapt off shelves, cupboards flew open and there was a terrible and tragic loss of tea.

We actually got off very lightly, with no structural damage to the house or significant breakages inside it. A couple of streets away, there were chimneys falling down.

All in all, a bit of an odd morning.

Cheers,

Cy.

bugger that..... What happened to the tea.... why wasn't this reported on the national news? Is there some conspriacy to hide the news of spilt tea so it doesn't upset the nation in the run up to the local elections.....
