Escort Duty (Demo) Report

Shadow Queen

Mongoose
Last wednesday night at around 19:00 the EAS Liner: Nightshade and her escort of 2 thunderbolt flights and 2 starfurie flights set off when a Jump Point formed in the Nightshades sector 2.

Raiders!!! A single Raider Strike Carrier Jumped in, the Nightshades fighter Escort raced to intercept the Strike Carrier.

turn 2:

EA won int,

and opted for the Raiders to move first, the Strike Carrier closed the distance but the Nightshade couldn't outrun the Strike Carrier as she launched fighters.

The Nightshade was out of range so couldn't fire, her fighter escorts opened up on the carrier with little effect.

the Strike Carrier opened up and oblitterated the EAS Liner: Nightshade.

Sounds pretty one-sided.

What, the raiders sift through the wreckage for booty? Didn't seem like a good "raid" at all. Seems like an assassination.

Wow. That scenario is totally broken. The Raiders will win every time unless the furies get a 4/6, 6/6 or speed 0 crit in the one turn of firing they will have before being blown out of the sky by the AF weapons!

Ouch, that was a fairly sort and sweet battle report. I agree with the others though, I don't see how the liner and EA fighters could win. The liner is slooooow and is out ranged. And the raiders have all their fighters and anti-fighter weapons.

How old is that scenario? It reads as though it was written for the original box set rules, pre-SFoS, when fighters had rather more punch.
