Equipment Question

Still confused about equipment.

A character receives ALL of the following:

• The Basic Equipment Package
  Equipment from the Additional Class lists (up to the characters' level worth)
  Any Additional Equipment choices assigned by the Team Leader

Sometimes I read it that the character receives #1 and #3. Sometimes I read that he receives all three choices.

Any insight?

All of the above.

It is just that the Team Leader is probably going to want to use his special requisitions to get things that the mission at hand will need instead of something that a team member might need specifically.

OK, another question about equipment.

From the class-oriented Additional Equipment Options: most of the entries have two items listed -- do I get both (either of which I can "trade down") or just one (which I can "trade down" for multiple items)?
