Just a quick question; If a PC already has a Pact, say with an elemental or Lord of Chaos and they are forced into Savant which creates a Pact (Cran Liret) what happens to their original Pact? Assuming they fail their opposed resistance roll of course.

I reckon it rescinds their previous Pact and retribution is sought as per the Cult entry with all the other associated penalties. Thoughts, suggestions?

Does Savant affect their memories?

I thought as long as the powers you have pacts with are sort of not opposed you could have more than one pact..
I could be wrong, just thinking off the top of my head.

As far as I remember you get to have pacts with whoever the hell you want. However some cults react badly to this and level different punishments, as noted in the cult descriptions. Some take away your toys, some don't care and all goes on as normal as long as you carry out your duties and some try and kill you.

I was thinking of the Deathbringers and Laasa particularly. Laasa is fine, there is no direct retribution if the Pact is broken. The Deathbringers on the other hand...go all out to kill you.

I would suggest that forming another Pact, the Deathbringers would not be happy....

This is one of those areas that you have to manage according to your campaign.

You can have as many pacts as your POW can stand. Obviously contradictory pacts will force reprisal, but something like Deathbringers and Spell Thieves isn't especially controversial. The Lords of Chaos don't give too hoots about Cran Liret really.

Fair enough. That will make things much easier. The guys weren't to happy with the gender and skill changes I made when they used time travel to try and destroy an enemy, I can only imagine how pissed they'd be if I rescinded their pacts as well...

Provided of course they end up being in put in Savant and don't find ways of averting that fate!
